We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and hardworking Catering Assistant to join our kitchen team in a warm and welcoming dementia care home. You’ll play a vital role in preparing and serving nutritious meals that support the health and wellbeing of our residents, many of whom are living with dementia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of meals and snacks in accordance with dietary requirements and residents’ preferences
- Support the Head Chef in maintaining high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
- Serve meals to residents in the dining area and assist with clearing tables
- Ensure all kitchen equipment and utensils are cleaned and stored properly
- Follow food safety, infection control, and health & safety procedures at all times
- Communicate effectively with care staff to ensure residents’ dietary needs are met
- Provide a friendly and respectful service to residents, promoting dignity and choice
Requirements:
- A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
- Good communication skills and a caring, respectful approach
- Ability to follow instructions and work to high hygiene standards
- Previous experience in a catering or care home kitchen environment
