Catering Assistant

12 hours per week

We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and hardworking Catering Assistant to join our kitchen team in a warm and welcoming dementia care home. You’ll play a vital role in preparing and serving nutritious meals that support the health and wellbeing of our residents, many of whom are living with dementia.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of meals and snacks in accordance with dietary requirements and residents’ preferences
• Support the Head Chef in maintaining high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
• Serve meals to residents in the dining area and assist with clearing tables
• Ensure all kitchen equipment and utensils are cleaned and stored properly
• Follow food safety, infection control, and health & safety procedures at all times
• Communicate effectively with care staff to ensure residents’ dietary needs are met
• Provide a friendly and respectful service to residents, promoting dignity and choice

Requirements:

• A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
• Good communication skills and a caring, respectful approach
• Ability to follow instructions and work to high hygiene standards
• Previous experience in a catering or care home kitchen environment

Devonshire House in Sudbury is home to well trained and helpful staff with rooms for up to 68 residents.
