Devonshire House is a welcoming and vibrant environment where high‑quality food and excellent service play a key role in the experience we provide. We are looking for a friendly, reliable Catering Assistant to join our team and help us deliver nutritious, well‑presented meals with a smile.
What you’ll do:
- Support the preparation and serving of meals and refreshments
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas
- Assist with basic food preparation
- Ensure food safety and hygiene procedures are followed at all times
- Provide warm, attentive service to residents, visitors, and colleagues
- Help with stock rotation, deliveries, and general kitchen organisation
What we’re looking for:
- A positive, can‑do attitude and a genuine desire to help others
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
- An understanding of food hygiene
- Reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail
- Previous catering experience is helpful

Devonshire House in Sudbury is home to well trained and helpful staff with rooms for up to 68 residents. At Anchor, we pride ourselves in providing 24-hour care and specialised services for elderly people, the beauty of our grounds, the quality of our catering and our engaging activities we deliver.
- Historic and beautiful listed building with extensive landscaped grounds in a rural setting beside the river
- The service is immersed within an active village community. We regularly host events at the home and can attend village events or use the community shop, tea rooms or three pubs
