Catering Assistant

30 hours per week.

Wetherby Manor is looking for a catering assistant who helps create a warm, homely dining experience throughout the building, not just in the kitchen. The role focuses on making mealtimes calm, familiar, and enjoyable for residents.

Core responsibilities:

• Prepare simple food items and support the chef with daily meals.
• Set up and serve meals in dining areas around the home.
• Follow dietary needs.
• Keep kitchen and dining spaces clean and hygienic.
• Help maintain a calm, homely atmosphere during mealtimes.

What we’re looking for:

• Someone warm, patient, and comfortable supporting residents living with dementia.
• A team player who can work calmly and confidently around the home.
• Good communication skills and the ability to engage with residents in a friendly, respectful way.
• An understanding of food hygiene and willingness to follow safety standards.
• Reliability, good time‑management, and a positive attitude during busy mealtimes.
• A caring approach, with attention to individual needs, routines, and preferences.

Wetherby Manor offers the full spectrum of 24-hour residential and dementia care, assisted living and nursing care. Our home is included in the Knight Frank luxury care homes List 2021. Located close to the centre of Wetherby, and close to the villages of Collingham and Boston Spa, Wetherby Manor is surrounded by many local attractions, including public gardens, theatres and places to drink and dine.
