Weekend Housekeeper

Part-time, Saturday and Sunday only, 5.25 hour days flexible on shift-times to suit your needs.

The Housekeeper plays a vital role in creating a clean, safe and welcoming environment for residents living with dementia. By maintaining high standards of hygiene and supporting a homely atmosphere, the housekeeper helps promote residents’ comfort, dignity and sense of security. This role requires a calm, compassionate approach and an understanding of how to work sensitively around individuals with varying needs and routines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean resident bedrooms: dusting, vacuuming, mopping, bathroom cleaning, emptying bins.
  • Clean communal areas: lounges, dining rooms, corridors, activity spaces.
  • Laundry duties: washing, drying, ironing and returning clothes and linens.
  • Infection control: follow cleaning schedules, use appropriate products, maintain hygiene standards.
  • Stock management: monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and laundry items.
  • Report concerns: notify senior staff of maintenance issues or changes in residents’ needs.

Skills & Qualities:

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Compassionate and calm manner.
  • Ability to work around individual routines and adapt to changing needs.
  • Good communication with care staff and residents.
  • Understanding of dementia-friendly practice
