About the role
Reporting to the Director of Rented Housing you will be part of a team of three other senior colleagues who collectively lead on the implementation of the Rented Housing and Extra Care operating plans and service. For at least the first 12 months in post, you will be operating within an environment of significant change.
There is an inter-dependency on peers in the Homeownership and Extra Care function to ensure that there is joint action and learning, minimise duplication and manage resources efficiently. The key purposes of the role are:
Leading and developing the regional Rented Housing team to deliver excellent customer service and drive change in line with AH business aims and objectives.
Delivering the Rented Housing Strategic Plan and drive a continuous improvement culture and change leadership.
Management of internal and external stakeholder relationships
Ensuring compliance with all regulatory/statutory and internal governance/policy requirements and make recommendations for improvements
You must have relevant knowledge of operational procedure in the management of Rented Housing properties and customers, have a clear understanding of critical areas of compliance with internal procedures and external legislation.
You will have a sound understanding of Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults along with a comprehensive understanding of Local Authority and NHS structures/ key drivers of housing related support, care and NHS funding.
You will have proven experience of business and financial planning and budget management, KPI targets and service standards, regulatory and legislative requirements in a housing setting and good understanding of relevant HR practices.
You will have the proven ability to lead and motivate people in “steady state” and change environments, preferably with dispersed teams and services to older people. You must have worked in a fast paced customer focused environment delivering large scale change and projects. It is also essential that you are able to build and maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders, including negotiation
